My Reviews of Books

FragileFragile by M. Leighton

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Yay! I just finished Fragile, and I am still in love with Hardy. Such a great character and a sweet, sexy guy. His love for Miracle brings out the man that he is meant to be and helps him stand up to those who would have him be someone that he's not. Miracle was a lovely character. You really feel her pain and her appreciation for everything around her. Cheyenne is a horrible, awful person and I really wanted someone to hurt Hardy's father.
This is a wonderful story and I recommend it to anyone who wants to revisit those feelings of falling in love for the first time.

Wishing For Someday SoonWishing For Someday Soon by Tiffany King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. It is different and touches on real issues that face our teens today. It was really sad in parts and very touching in others. I loved the characters, especially Kevin and Max. I really cared about the characters and what happened to them, and because it was so sad, I was really hoping for a happy ending, that they would get their "Someday Soon" - but I won't spoil the book and say whether I got one or not.

EasyEasy by Tammara Webber
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really loved this book! I have never read Tammara Webber, but when I started reading the reviews for Easy, I had to check it out for myself. I was not disappointed! I love Lucas... Totally HOT!!! I enjoyed the story lines and all of the characters. I think Tammara did a beautiful job touching on a subject that is very real and dangerous. I loved the way the characters reacted to the developments in the story and thought it was very realistic. I can't wait to read more of Tammara Webber's books!

Awry (The Archers of Avalon, #2)Awry by Chelsea Fine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When is the third book coming out??? I need to know what happens! I loved the way this book had flashbacks, so we could see how Scarlet, Tristan, and Gabriel were when they were younger and what their back stories were. I don't want to give anything away with my review, but will say I felt a lot of sadness and longing while reading. I loved it and seriously cannot wait to see how everything all plays out. Oh... and I am hoping two certain characters will fall for each other! :)

Defy (Firstborn, #1)Defy by Raine Thomas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved it! I think it took me two days to read Defy, but that is only because I had to work, tend to my children, eat, and sleep! I have read Raine's first series and eagerly awaited this trilogy to become available. I was lucky enough to get to read an arc, since I signed up to be a part of her blog tour... it killed me to have to wait almost two months to say anything about it!
Tate is a very endearing and relatable character, and Zachariah is my favorite kind of character. Strong, brooding, and manly. I loved their story and their chemistry.
I don't want to give anything away, but I will say that one of the things I loved the most was that I knew the characters from the first books. It felt like meeting up with old friends. I love that Raine kept the same feel of the first books, while still making the story fresh.
I also love that she shocked me at one point. I usually figure out what is going to happen next throughout a story, but I was taken by surprise this time and I really enjoyed it!
I also really want to learn more about Tiege! I don't know if he is going to get his own story or not, but I hope so!!!
Another home run for Raine Thomas!

Oppression (Children of the Gods, #1)Oppression by Jessica Therrien
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I bought oppression at the Southern California Writers Conference and it was promptly stolen by my teenage daughters. They absolutely loved it and kept it until I took it back two days ago. That's how long it took me to read... two weeks! I love it! It is a unique and engaging story. Elyse and William are sweet and they make you want to root for them. Oppression is a quick read. I really wanted to know what happened, but didn't want it to end. Great job Jessica .. bring on number two.

Because of Low (Sea Breeze, #2)Because of Low by Abbi Glines
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am so happy that we got to read Marcus's story. We fell in love with him in Breathe and were hoping that he would find his love. The books I enjoy the most make me laugh and make me cry, and Because of Low made me feel a bevy of emotions. Another success by Abbi Glines!

Intimate StrangersIntimate Strangers by Laura Taylor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nicholas and Hannah's story is HOT! Right from the beginning you feel the chemistry between these two and Nicholas is everything you want in a leading man... mysterious, sexy, and 100% man! I really enjoyed this novel. I have been so immersed in YA lately, it was nice to settle in with an adult romance. I was lucky enough to meet Ms. Laura Taylor, and I have to say she is as lovely as she is talented!

BloomBloom by Julie Anne Lindsey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed Bloom. Julie Anne Lindsey really brought me back to the books that made me love to read. I love stories about small towns and redemption. Mitchell is so sexy and Cynthia is a character full of secrets. It was a fast and enjoyable read... I loved it! (Will the next one be about Carter???)

The Little RoseThe Little Rose by Sheri Fink
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I purchased The Little Rose for my four year old daughter. She loved the illustrations and the story. She said that the weeds were "mean" and they made The Little Rose "sad". She loved the vivid colors, pink is her favorite, and was happy when the rose was moved to be with the "nice flowers". I enjoyed reading this to my daughter and experiencing The Little Rose's journey through her eyes, because it is such a positive message. I commend Sheri for creating such a wonderful story for children.
