Special Christmas Interview with Author Sheri Fink

1. What is your favorite Christmas movie? Is there a reason/tradition behind your pick?

My favorite Christmas movie is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. It's the one tradition I have with my Dad. We watch it together every year when I visit for the holidays.

2. If you could kiss anyone under the mistletoe, who would it be??? (Significant others not allowed!)

Henry Cavill ... while he's dressed as Superman ;)

3. What was the best, and worst, Christmas you ever had?

I always enjoy Christmas and I feel like my best one is yet to come. :)

My worst Christmas was when I was in 8th grade and my parents had just divorced. I was living in a small apartment with my Mom and sister and we were barely getting by. My Mom did her best to make it special on restricted resources, but it was a difficult season for us all. I'm grateful that we at least had each other while we were going through the transition.

4. What is your favorite thing about Christmas?

I love the feeling of Christmas ... the decorations, the music, the special desserts, spending time with family, and the celebrations. I often travel to my hometown and spend the holidays with my family. My Mom beautifully decorates her entire house (literally!) and it always smells delicious from her homemade goodies. It's an immersive Christmas environment and I love it! She gets so excited to have my sister and I home with her to share that time together. The way my Mom lights up during that time of year is my favorite thing about Christmas.

5. Which character that you've written loves Christmas the most? Worst? Why?

The Little Gnome loves Christmas the most because he's enamored by the candy-colored lights and good cheer all around. He's also the only character in The Whimsical World of Sheri Fink who's experienced winter and everything that comes with it. :)

Thanks, Sheri!
