October Seven 11 Blog Hop and #Giveaways

I'm so excited that the Seven 11 Blog Hop is back... And, it's BIGGER than ever! You'll still hop to each author's blog to read seven lines from their current WIP, but since the blog hop is now quarterly, each author is offering a #Giveaway!

Today, I'm sharing seven lines from my tentatively titled Contemporary Fiction, Always Room for Cupcakes. This story is unlike anything I've written before, and I'm having an absolute blast writing this character.  I hope you enjoy it!

Prologue

            One day you’re be-bopping along jamming to the music in your head while wondering if your thighs can handle grabbing a cupcake on the way home, and the next thing you know, you’re entire world crashes and burns.

            I used to wake up at night in a sweat, crying because I’d dreamt that my husband was cheating on me, or that he hated me and resented my kids. He’d always hold me close and tell me it was all just a dream, that he loved me and our family, and that he’d never let me go.

            He was a fucking liar.

            Instead of being the sweet, affable, hard-working man he projected to me and the outside world, he was actually a cheating, vagina-licking asshole, who only cared about getting off, and being free of responsibility.

            I’d gone from sweet and caring housewife, to a bitter, hard-as-nails single mom, who worked her ass off to give her kids a quarter of the life they were used to. Putting my photography skills to use, I’d gone to work for a scumbag PI, who used me to dig up good dirt on his clients.

Good Morning! The Seven 11 Blog Hop is a monthly feature, where participating authors share seven lines from their WIP on the 11th of the month.

This month, I'm offering a little tease from 3 Seconds, book 6 in the Time for Love series, which releases on Aug 25, 2015. This is Brendan's story, and can be added to your TBR on Goodreads.

           She was average height, with dark, possibly red, hair, which hung long and thick over her creamy white skin. It was hard to tell when the lights on the stage were so bright, and the dance floor so dark… Who the fuck cared what color it was anyway. It was lush and beautiful, and begged to be wrapped around my hands.

Her body was thick… sexy, thick… all ass, tits and legs. The way she moved screamed confidence. Even from my vantage point, I could tell she wasn’t one of the normal girls that came to our shows… the groupies… the young, hot chicks in short dresses, who were perfectly made up. This chick was one hundred percent real, and comfortable in her own skin.

Seven 11 Blog Hop ~ More than Exist

Good Morning! The Seven 11 Blog Hop is a monthly feature, where participating authors share seven lines from their WIP on the 11th of the month.

This month, I'm offering a little tease from More than Exist, which releases on May 18, 2015. This is a Women's Fiction title. Back in November, before I started working on 10 Years, I was working on this and set it aside. I teased it in November's Hop, but it had a different working title, and the basis of the story has changed a bit, but you can check out that tease here.

            “What do you say?” I asked when she came into focus.

            “Yes,” she answered happily. “I’m in.”

            “To road trips,” I said, raising my glass in a toast.

            “To Belle and Ginger’s Journey of Fun,” Ginger said excitedly.

            “Belle and Ginger’s Voyage of Laughter,” I replied.

            “Belle and Ginger’s Expedition of …” Ginger looked confused for a moment, then giggled. “I can’t think of anything else.”

            As I laughed along with my newfound friend, I had high hopes that my solitary trip would now include a little bit of excitement.

Gwen's POV ~ this is an unedited draft

             Craig stepped back in front of me, blocking my way, and leaned his face down into mine, the anger practically vibrating off of him.

            “Don’t give me that double standard bullshit, if I thought for one minute you were drinking and sleeping with random guys because you were enjoying college and sowing your wild oats, or whatever the fuck you call it, I’d be all for it. I’d be your biggest damn champion… But we both know that’s not it. You’re doing this for my benefit, to punish me… And the shit of it is, I have no idea what I’m being punished for, but I can tell you one thing, you’re not happy. You know it, and I know it, and I just wish you’d wake the fuck up and let me help you.”

            His words pierced my skin and I suddenly felt like a cornered, injured animal, and all I wanted to do was fight back.
