Special Christmas Interview with Author Shannon McCrimmon

1. What is your favorite Christmas movie? Is there a reason/tradition behind your pick?

Although While You Were Sleep is not technically a Christmas movie, it does take place during Christmas, so I consider it one. I love the family in this movie. They're so loving and accepting. And I never grow tired of the romance, either. I love the chemistry between Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman. I've watched this every Christmas since it was released on dvd - so, almost twenty years (yikes). To me, this movie embodies the spirit of Christmas.

2. If you could kiss anyone under the mistletoe, who would it be??? (Significant others not allowed!)

Since I can't say my husband, I'll say Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice.

3. What was the best, and worst, Christmas you ever had?

I can't choose a best Christmas because I've had so many. Worst? I'd say the year I moved away from my home state of Florida because it was the first Christmas I'd ever had where I didn't see my parents.

4. What is your favorite thing about Christmas?

The giving spirit that everyone has.

5. Which character that you've written loves Christmas the most? Worst? Why?

I'd say Jesse, from The Summer I Learned To Dive and The Year I Almost Drowned, loves Christmas the most. He's into family and celebrations and has a huge giving heart.

Ellie from The Days Lost likes it the least because her mother passed away, and the holiday is an overt reminder that she's gone.

Thanks, Shannon!
