November Author Interview with Cheryllynn Dyess

Today I'd like to welcome, Cheryllynn Dyess!

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my questions.
I'm excited to have you and can't wait to learn more about you.

1. Where do you find inspiration for your books?

Some are inspired by dreams (or nightmares) and others by what I have endured and overcome.

2. Is there a routine to your writing?

No, not really. I tend to sit and write. Planning things out have not worked so well for me....I get distracted easily.

3. Who are some of your favorite writers? How have they inspired you?

Poe was the first writer I ever loved! His work is unique and dark. He wrote what he felt and that is all that mattered. He taught me that you must write to what is in your soul...and for nothing more!  My second favorite would be N.K. Jemisin - she inspired me with her Inheritance Trilogy to love the world that could be. Also finding out she is a woman made it all that better!

4. What are you working on now?

I have one book in editing, A Witch's Reality that will be the follow up novella to A Witch's Dream World. If all goes well I should be able to share it with the world in December.

5. What advice would you give to unpublished writers?

Write for yourself...enjoy what you write and don't conform. Be you.

Bio

Cheryllynn's vivid imagination comes through in all she does in life. Her writing started in junior high, although she never truly shared her work until recently. They were kept hidden away in an old tattered orange folder. Original works she wrote as early as 1984 still hold ink on the pages and are coming to life. Science Fiction and Fantasy are her favorite genres with Mystery and Thrillers close behind.
Born in Northwest Florida and raised in Southeast Georgia she developed a love for nature and the outdoors. Her experiences outdoors allows her to create universes with vivid detail. After a detour of almost twenty years in the health care industry and obtaining her Bachelors of Science in Healthcare Administration/Healthcare Information Systems she has returned to her love of writing.
Currently living in Central Texas with two of her three children, she has begun a new chapter in life that has opened her heart and soul to many great adventures. Her hobbies include fishing, crochet, gardening...and of course reading.
