Today I'd like to welcome, Myself!!
Since it's Thanksgiving, and my 40th Birthday, I decided to take over my own blog for the day and interview myself! :)
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
1. Where do you find inspiration for your books?
2. Is there a routine to your writing?
3. Who are some of your favorite writers? How have they inspired you?
4. What are you working on now?
5. What advice would you give to unpublished writers?
Sometimes from people, music, or memories. Other times something will hit me when I'm about to fall asleep, driving in my car, or just sitting around daydreaming.
2. Is there a routine to your writing?
I tend to get the most done during the day. Once the kids start coming home, it's harder to focus. Then there's dinner to make, homework to get done, etc... And by the time my husband comes home, I'm ready to take time out to be with my family. Sometimes I'll write at night, if a scene comes to me, but for the most part, I'm a daytime writer.
3. Who are some of your favorite writers? How have they inspired you?
I have loved Nora Roberts and Stephen King for as long as I can remember, and King's On Writing was a joy to read. Now, I read anything that Kristen Ashley writes. I'm kind of in love with her, even though we've never met. I also love the writing, and mind, of Tarryn Fisher. Some of my other Favs are Penny Reid, Samantha Young, and Kristen Proby.
I have three books finished and with my agent, a Women's Fiction, the first in a, Adult Romance series, and the first in a romantic comedy/suspense series. I've just finished a short Twisted Fairy Tale for an Anthology, and the sixth book in my YA series, Stories about Melissa, Adios. Next up is the seventh and final book in the Time for Love series, 7 Months. It's been a busy couple of months! :)
5. What advice would you give to unpublished writers?
Keep writing. You'll only keep getting better the more you write.
Network with other writers, bloggers, readers, and business people in this community. We are a tribe and you must give in as much as you take out.
Write what makes you uncomfortable, something that hasn't been done before. Be afraid!
Don't focus on the negative. With that I mean not only reviews, but the negativity on social media. Don't engage in it. You don't need that in your life. Focus on the positive.

Look, I made up these choices because I knew it would be hard for me to pick. Don't get mad at me when I can't make a choice! ;)

On vacation in Ireland with his friends from college, straight-laced accountant, Josh expected a relaxing weekend full of magical stories, lush landscapes, and pints of Guinness. He never imagined he'd take a tumble down into the ocean and become captivated by a woman with translucent skin, wild-red hair, and the ability to disarm him with a look.
Being a practical man, Josh naturally assumes the local lore of mermaids and magic are only fairy tales… Will he turn his back on the impossible, or will he take a Leap of Faith?
This is a short story coming in around 8k. Enjoy!
This short story will be #FREE for all of fans to celebrate my birthday!
