November Author Interviews Featuring Carlyle Labuschagne

Today I'd like to welcome, Carlyle Labuschagne!

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my questions.
I'm excited to have you and can't wait to learn more about you.

1. Where do you find inspiration for your books?

Anything can spark a story idea. A song, two characters interacting on one of my favorite TV series. Most of my YA stuff comes from the urge to tell a story and inspire youngsters to take life into their own hands. Delivering A message of self love and believe in teenagers is important to me.

2. Is there a routine to your writing?

Yes, I make sure to write everyday.

3. Who are some of your favorite writers? How have they inspired you?

Cassandra Clare is one of my all time YA favorites. She is a very colorful writer, she has inspired me to experiment with my settings in a scene. My latest writers crush is Chelsea Fine, her writing is intense and what is inspiring is short but very descriptive sentences.

4. What are you working on now?

Right now, I am editing my next adventure - crossing over to adult crime. It's been one hell of a ride and a very long process in having to change my writing style and taking on the challenge of not letting one single detail slip.

5. What advice would you give to unpublished writers?

Write and write and rewrite. Edit until you want to hurl from it, but mostly go where your heart takes you and never to second guess yourself. The reader can feel the passion and even the doubt in your stories deliverance. NEVER GIVE UP is the most important part.

Coffee or Tea

coffeeeeeeeeeeeee :D

Wine or Beer

Wine, def wine, beer is bloating and tastes bitter. Cant do it.

Movies or Books
I cant do without either. But books for me are way more relaxing.

Hemsworth or Pratt
Hemsworth and Pratt.

Summer or Winter
I am far happier in Summer!

Beach or Mountains
What I love most about mountains is forest and trees, and trees and more green trees, but the cold - Im not sure I can stand, so I go with a beach close to the mountains.

Pizza or Cheeseburger
Cheeseburger with extra greenery.

Love at First Sight or Friends to Lovers
Love at first sight. I fell in love and married my high school sweetheart. I cant imagine us being friends first. Although there is something sweet about the notion of friends before lovers. For me it's insta heat!

Halloween or Christmas
Halloween is not such a great deal in South Africa. Christmas is a great time for family and taking time to recap.

Game of Thrones or Outlander
As ridiculous as it may sound, I have not watched either of these two :P
