November Author Interviews Featuring Raine Thomas!

Today I'd like to welcome, Raine Thomas!

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my questions.
I'm excited to have you and can't wait to learn more about you.

1. Where do you find inspiration for your books?
Like most writers, I find inspiration everywhere...in my own experiences, in the stories from my friends and family, in the news I hear from around the world, and even when I'm busy doing dishes or walking the dog. You never know where inspiration will strike!

2. Is there a routine to your writing?
Once I dig into a project, I start with detailed character sketches so I know my cast and their motivations. I then do a chapter-by-chapter outline before I begin writing the actual story. I find that I write with more confidence once I know the story's flow. Once the outline is done, I can usually complete a book in about a month. Of course, sometimes the characters like to surprise me mid-project, and then it's back to the drawing board!

3. Who are some of your favorite writers? How have they inspired you?
My favorite writer of all is Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb. She has a way of writing her characters that makes me want to keep turning the pages, and she evokes emotion in me more than any other author I've read. She has inspired me to take a lot of care in crafting my characters and doing what I can to make the reader root for them. I've also had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful authors who are my favorite people to hang around with and who help keep me motivated...including you, Bethany!

4. What are you working on now?
I'm working on a New Adult futuristic crime series with a male lead, and I've got outlines started for two other New Adult contemporary romances. 2016 is going to be a busy year for me!

5. What advice would you give to unpublished writers?
Make sure you're active on social media and doing what you can to support other authors and engage readers. Also, don't be afraid of the editing process. I've seen more than one aspiring author turn away from a project because they didn't want to muscle through the edits, but if you stick with it, you'll end up with a gem that will sell!

Years later, Eden remembers none of her former life. She serves her “Master,” unaware of the family still searching for her. But as her eighteenth birthday approaches, memories begin to surface, and she questions her circumstances for the first time.

Eden’s confusion mounts when she’s joined by Connor, a handsome Elphresti male who reveals things that shatter her reality. They’ll end up on the run, knowing they can trust only each other. After all, Metis will stop at nothing to get them back, and she thrives on her ability to deceive.
